SERVICES
SITE PREPARATION
(Including Tree & Brush Removal, Lot Clearing/Grading)
Site preparation includes the demolition of buildings, landfilling, levelling, earth-moving, excavating, drainage, tree and brush removal and other land preparation. J&R has the equipment and expertise for whatever site preparation services you require.
Proper site preparation identifies complications upfront and allows you to address them before the construction process begins. Rectifying potential problems proactively is easier and less expensive when done before construction equipment is dispatched and schedules are finalized.
Carefully executed preparation is the foundation of a successful construction project. Our excavation and backfill crews take the following steps to ensure your site is thoroughly and expertly prepared:
Clearing
- During this stage, the entire site is cleared and graded. Where necessary, trees and brush are removed, in addition to unwanted underground structures such as derelict oil tanks.
Soil Testing
- Testing the soil is critical to determine the ability of the substrate to absorb water and support the proposed structure.
Planning
- During this stage, all necessary drainage, retaining walls, septic systems, and other infrastructure fixtures are planned.
Geotechnical Investigations
- A geotechnical engineer and groundwater expert must be consulted to evaluate site conditions before the construction of the structural foundations.
For most residential construction projects, site preparation can take between one and two months. Timelines vary, but well-executed site preparation will expedite the construction process.
